2 February 2008 - "OhLush.net"

I recently stumbled upon OhLush.net and was horrified at what I saw. Take a look at this screenshot:

What on earth could have possessed the owner of this website to make a layout like this, especially since she is a straight woman? Well, it’s not even as if had she been a man/lesbian this would have been any better.

Firstly, that layout makes her website look like it’s going to be a porn site. This will lead to many horny teenage boys being very disappointed and consequently committing suicide. It immediately gives whatever unlucky soul who stumbles across her “website” the wrong idea, although it is a lovely warning sign to people like me to not even bother reading her blog or looking through her content because if she can make a layout like that, there must be something wrong with her.

Secondly, right align? What the hell! Give me one example when a layout aligned to the right ever looked good. I thought not. It’s not even that it’s right aligned but is quite clearly suffering from weborexia. White space– sorry, pink space– much? And as for the font, I doubt that Georgia is readable in any size font, never mind size 7.5pt!

I honestly think that this site has one of the worst pornographic themes I have seen all 2008. I can’t think what have got into the owner of this website to even make this theme; it just makes it impossible for me to take her seriously. That being said, if she did have a somewhat decent layout, a scan of her blog would confirm the fact that all is not right in her head.

Anyway, new photography up. Go and take a look!

7 January 2008 - "Blogathon"

I’m finding this blogathon challenge much harder than I thought I would.

So I want you as the reader to help me out. What sorts of things do you like to read in blogs?

4 January 2008 - "Content Management Systems"

I was looking through opensourcecms.com and I found loads of CMSs that I never even knew existed. I’m a bit wary of switching from Wordpress to another CMS though because Wordpress has such good support.

One of the best systems I found was called Joomla. It’s supposed to be like Wordpress except it’s much more easier to personalise. Anyone heard anything about this? Any major flaws?

What CMS do you use?
